Staart's journey commenced with a simple yet ambitious idea: utilizing technology to solve real-world problems. Initially, we delved into sci-fi concepts, exploring cutting-edge solutions like the Generative Adversarial Neural Network (GAN) and experimenting with an autonomous rover designed to automate entire workflows based on identified inputs received from the rover. However, the reality hit when the on-ground implementation of the rover faced resistance from users due to the high perceived cost of the rover and concerns about responsibility for its potential damage or theft thus users said no to Rover.

 

After a year, recognizing that we were pursuing too many ideas without tangible user engagement, we took a step back. Refocusing on the actual challenges organizations face, we examined workflows in various companies to identify specific problems that our team could swiftly solve. This led us to develop a rigid, rule-based software solution, initially implemented by our product managers and developers. Through this process, we learned the importance of software tools and technologies should be flexible, collaborative, and grounded in user feedback. Adopting a more user-centric approach, we embraced techniques such as interviewing users, clickable prototyping, MVPs, and piloting implementations.

 

Tools like UI heat mapping and event tracking provided valuable insights into user behavior. Initially, we encountered numerous bugs during the implementation stage, but we persevered. Today, some of our products are used daily for 3-4 hours by individual users, and our expense management solution currently has over 14,000 downloads and continues to grow. Recognizing the profound impact of procurement and finance decisions on organizations and related parties, during our experience we understood the need for technologies in businesses focusing on the transition from procurement to finance and their inter-departmental collaboration until order fulfillment. We are now excited to solve these problems for enterprises. Our journey has been marked by excitement, learning, and a commitment to pushing technological boundaries.
